I've been away-- 7 days with hubby and my 3 kids cruising the Mexican Riviera -- 3 days at sea, one zip-lining through Puerto Vallarta, one playing at the beach in Mazatlan, and one snorkeling and zodiac boating in Cabo San Lucas.
Now it is catch-up time while being the driver extraordinaire to those 3 said kids above + one whopper of a head cold.
Who says the publishing industry slows down for summer--it hasn't for me, my clients, or the editors I work with.
Just got back from SCBWI Summer Conference in LA, which was wonderful. I, like all other attendees, left refreshed, revitalized and recommitted (yes, even to my own writing---but first I have to find the time for that so we'll see.)
With many of you waiting, waiting, waiting to see if your writing is going to sell, I want to refresh, revitalize and recommit to all of you. Oddly enough, my blunt call to action below seems to have resonated with so many readers that I will repeat it here as well as link to some fab posts from the past:
Here's my final word on rejection---after enduring years on my own writing and a year on behalf of my writers (yes, agents feel the sting of rejection much more than you all since there are few of our writers who sell their books without at least one rejection):
